The Project

Once i had exausted my acdc-esque obsession i steered the project into heavy metal, the influences lyrically became less party rock and more serious with some inspiration being taken from what was going on in my life at the time, but not too much though! and keeping perspective on the character frontman "Redhead with Horns" in that he was a rockstar after all and humour has always been important to me. I introduced three new characters into the make believe band to join the gene simmons type frontman (now masked), guitarist "KKrusty", drummer "the machine" and bassist "piggy mullins", none of these characters were based on any one person but instead a mixture of many personas including myself ie: KKrusty a young me in Atomkraft?.

Below right: Me unmasked with my £120 entry level epiphone SG which was a remarkably good guitar and that i used on all of the songs.

Redhead with horns began taking a dark turn in 2013 but also a prolific one too as three heavy metal albums were written and recorded and this on top of four "Pelaw Boot Boys" albums also in the same year. For me 2013 will go down in history as the year my mind exploded with creativity beyond anything before or since and ive always been very prolific as a writer. Looking back it was the year that i was maybe coming out of a mid-life wobble which started some six years earlier.. i felt at last i was becoming more at ease with myself so with age comes maturity, as i write this ten years later at age 53 i think i was'nt as maturing as i thought but it was a start anyway. After a skirt with neo nazism and satanism (as you do) in the redhead with horns project the whole thing settled back to good old rock n roll on the last album of songs called "German Bootleg". I'm pleased with how redhead with horns project turned out, its not just fake and pretend there is real stuff going on in the music under the surface which makes it an authentic body of work. Obviously at the time i thought how great it would have been to have taken the band to some musicians and gone "Live" with it and with the songs being so strong i think it would have gone down well, but having been burned so many times in the past with great bands of mine that had no label offers i decided to leave redhead with horns as is. With technology in the future coming down the line who knows what redhead with horns might evolve into but whatever it is i'll not be around to see it.
